School Council

What is a School Council?

A school council is a formal group of pupils within a school who are elected by their peers to represent them and their views.

A school council can provide a meaningful way in which pupils can voice their opinions and have their views taken into account regarding decisions which ultimately impact upon them.

The school council will aim to meet once a month to discuss matters arising, propose solutions to problems and to instigate fundraising. These could include any changes the children would like to make. Members of the school council are responsible for carrying out the ideas that have been agreed upon. Every class has elected a representative to be members of the school council.

School Councillors

Every year group has two children to represent them at the school council meetings - one elected from each class.

We also have a head boy and head girl who participate in an interview process to get the role.

If you have any ideas or suggestions to help improve our school, please see your class council representatives.
